How high must my garage floor be in Repentigny?
Construction bylaw 439 requires the floor of an attached or built-in garage to sit at least 0.20 metre above the centre of the adjacent street. It may be lower, for instance for a row house, a multi-family building or a business, if a catch basin collects water at the garage entrance, or on a waterfront lot whose lane drains toward the watercourse. Zoning also bans a basement garage in a detached, semi-detached, two-unit or three-unit home that does not meet those levels. The rest of the year, they go in the side or back yard. Zoning also bans parking a heavy vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,500 kg or more on a residential lot, except while work is under way.
How long does a certificate of authorization take in Repentigny?
Under section 31 of bylaw 441, a certificate of authorization for a compliant project must be issued within 30 days of receiving the request. If the file is incomplete, that period starts when the last required information is received. The request includes, among other things, the contractor’s name, a description of the work, its planned dates and its estimated cost: the written quote gives you the description and the cost. For a parking area, the certificate is valid for 12 months and can be renewed only once.
